Q:

Find the circumference of a circumference of a circle if the area is 300 square centimeters

Accepted Solution

A:
Hi there!

Finding the circumference of a circle is fairly easy! All we have to do is use the area of a circle formula to find the radius, then use the circumference formula to find the circumference!

WORK:
300pi = pi x r^2 (using the area of a circle formula to set up an equation)
300/pi = r^2 (dividing both sides by pi)
square root (300/pi) = r (taking the square root of both sides to find the radius)
C = 2pi (squareroot(300/pi)) (using the circumference formula to find the circumference)
C = 2pi(9.77205023806)
C =~ 61.4 cm

Hope this helps!! :)
If this doesn't make sense or you need help with another problem, please let me know!
PS - If the area was actually 300pi square centimeters, the answer is different. Please let me know if that was the case, and I'd be happy to give you the other answer.
